Qur'anic Solutions for Global Crises

13th International Bediuzzaman Symposium

The Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (IFKC) is pleased to announce the 13th International Bediuzzaman Symposium, titled "Qur'anic Solutions for Global Crises." The symposium will take place in Istanbul on October 4-6, 2026.

This symposium aims to develop universally applicable, ethical, and principled solutions to contemporary crises facing humanity from a Qur'anic perspective. The symposium will feature contributions from distinguished scholars and thought leaders to facilitate engagement among the academic and Islamic scholarly communities and different segments of society.

Drawing 668 paper submissions from five continents, 60 countries, and 448 different international institutions, this symposium will host hundreds of selected academics, scholars, madrasa scholars, members of the media, opinion leaders, and civil society representatives. It aims to be an international platform that seeks solutions to the material and spiritual crises humanity is going through, and that deliberates the possibilities offered by Islamic civilization.

Continuing a historic tradition of scholarship, the IFKC is a non-profit organization established in 1979. It collaborates internationally with many institutions, organizations, universities, and NGO's to organize scholarly, academic, social, cultural, and artistic activities that uphold the innate constitution (fitrah), faith, morality, and human values. We are honoured to invite you on behalf of the IFKC to participate in this symposium and contribute to building a more peaceful and secure world.

The 13th International Bediuzzaman Symposium meets the Academic Incentive and YÖK (Council of Higher Education) Associate Professorship Criteria. The Symposium Scientific and Advisory Committee has been formed with the participation of academics from 11 different countries. In addition, presenters from 10 different countries will deliver papers, and the full texts of the symposium will be published in two separate international journals. Full text papers not published in journals will be printed in the full text proceedings book.

Travel and accommodation support will be provided for selected papers accepted for presentation at the Bediuzzaman Symposium. The papers to be supported will be determined following the evaluation by the scientific committee, and the paper authors will be informed separately. For papers with multiple authors, travel and accommodation support will be provided for only one author.
