About IFKC
Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture

The Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (IFKC) was established in Istanbul in 1979 for the benefit of the public. At the IFKC, we work to address the global challenge of the deprivation of peace and security. The pursuit of peace—within oneself, within society, among nations, and with the environment—is a universal human aspiration.
Across the world, many organizations strive for a safer future through education in both the material sciences and moral values. As an active participant in this international effort, the IFKC supports sustainable cooperation among people of different religions, cultures, and traditions by promoting shared universal values.
In line with these objectives, the IFKC carries out a wide range of academic, social, and cultural activities.

The Istanbul Civilization Institute, established within our foundation, conducts educational and consultancy activities aimed at contributing to the development and restructuring of education systems—particularly in the Middle East, the Balkans, Africa, Europe, and the Turkic Republics. With the support of leading academics from around the world, it carries out research, prepares analytical reports for policymakers, and provides guidance to individuals and institutions interested in potential educational investments in the region. Its areas of focus include curriculum development, teacher training, family and child education, student clubs, vocational and religious education, arts and cultural heritage, and educational policy development.
The 5D Thinking Model, implemented by our foundation and offered to teachers, school principals, educators, and school owners from many countries, is grounded in the belief that science—when free of ideological bias—and the original divine message are fully compatible, as both ultimately stem from the same source.
We also provide financial assistance to university students conducting academic research in relevant fields and to those with limited means.
